 13-year-old child prodigy from Indore creates voice-run Alexa-like programme

Avi Sharma, a 13-year-old child prodigy from Indore has created a voice-run Alexa-like programme that can help the elderly and disabled people operate computers.

Avi Sharma from Indore with an IQ of 161, which only 2% of world's population have, is an avid coder, writer and even a motivational speaker. He has now developed a voice-run computer programme much like Alexa. The programme created after two weeks of hard work works through voice commands on the computer.


Avi got the inspiration to develop such a voice-operated programme after watching the difficulties faced by the elderly and disabled people in operating computers, which has now become a necessity for most.

It can be used to operate other electronic devices and can also translate one’s spoken language. If one has a WiFi facility at home, then the electronic devices at home can be operated through the programme.

Beginnings as a child prodigy

He used to recite shlokas and mantras from the age of two. At the age of two and a half, he was able to recall around 200-300 Hindi and English poems. He could easily identify colours and banks and ATMs.

That is when his parents identified his unique skills as a child prodigy and supported him to move ahead in different fields.

Avi Sharma started to perform on the stage from the young age of two and made appearance in TV shows on several channels, acted in commercials and four short films, and also appeared in a music album.

From penning 250 Ramayana verses to running his own talk show online

At the young age of 10, the young Indore boy wrote the Ramayana in his own words in 250 verses. ‘Balmukhi Ramayana’ written in Hindi aims to inform and inspire people through the epic.

The youngster has also taught vedic mathematics to more than 150 children from Classes 3 to 12 for free of cost during pandemic with the aim of helping students overcome maths anxiety and carry out quick mathematical calculations.
He is an avid coder as well and has created more than 1700 coding applications till date.

Avi Sharma also runs a celebrity talk show online called ‘Celebrity Corner’ in which has interviewed more than 60 people who are doing extraordinary work in the society personality.

Prominent names include Dr. Himanshu Rai (Director of IIM Indore), Aryama Sanyal (Airport Director), Dr. Harvinder Mannkar (Producer of Motu-Patlu), Pankaj Berry (Actor), Prem Sagar Director (Son of Ramnand Sagar), Mukesh Sharma (Former Director General of Doordarshan) and many more.

He has also delivered lectures on motivation and management in various schools. He is working to inculcate moral values, leadership skills, and motivation among people, especially children.

Under ‘Mission Sanskar’, Avi tries to make the children of India aware of the wealth of Indian mythology and culture through the short stories online comprising short and inspirational tales of Indian gods and goddesses.

The youngster also has several medals and awards, holding a number of records in the India Book of Records and the World Book of Records, both of which have been launched within the past few years.

He has bagged 20 gold and 1 silver medal in different Olympiads till date, and has also bagged national excellence awards in 2015 and 2017.

He has also received the Youth Icon Award 2021 in Intellectual category from the health and education ministry, apart from a letter of appreciation from UP CM Yogi Adityanath for his book ‘Balmukhi Ramayana’.

He has also received awards such as the Malav Ratan, the Indori Ratan, and the Pride of India award.
